STEAMBOAT CLASSIC MEMBER-GUEST RESULTS

The 2015 Steamboat Classic Member-Guest was played on June 27 and 28th, and it was an exciting one with a 3-way sudden-death playoff.  Adam Lussier and Mike Johnson ended up winning – Congratulations Adam and Mike!

The teams of Jesse Morgan and Pit Armstrong, and Dennis Yarrows and Mike Lentner also tied for first with a low 36-hole gross of 138 in the premiere member-guest event for the Club.

WOMEN’S SPECIAL CUP RESULTS

Susan Plante took the 2015 Special Cup (18 Hole) that was played on June 13th, with a Net score of 71.

The 2015 Special Cup (9-Hole) was played as part of the Niners outing on Tuesday June 16th.  The winner was Michelle Morgan with a net 36.

JUNIOR PROGRAMS

The schedule and details for Speed Golf for Kids (age 13 and under) and Golf for Kids is out now . . . check in with Pro Dave Twhoig if you have any questions.

The Speed Golf is currently scheduled from 4 PM to 6 PM on the following days:  Sun June 28th, Sun July 5th, Sat July 11th, Sun July 19th and Sat July 25th.  It is a great way to get your kids out to play some golf at a pace they will love.

The Golf with Kids program consists of three 3-day sessions slated for July 22th – 24th, Aug 5th – 7th and Aug 12th – 14th.

The 2015 Steamboat Classic, Amherst Golf Club’s marquis Member-Guest 36-hole event that was played June 27th and 28th, ended in regulation with a three-way tie. Adam Lussier and Mike Johnson claimed the win in a sudden death playoff – congratulations Adam and Mike!  The final scores for the three-way gross tie:

The Niner’s also played a 4-Ball Best 2 event the same day, and the winning team with a Net of 64 was Marie Appleby, Pat McAndrews, Judy Shea and Fran Becker.

Scott Coen linkedin

Veteran Radio and TV sportscaster Scott Coen is lending his talents in promoting play and new membership at Amherst Golf Club.   You should see him on the course for the Men’s Round-Robin Tuesday League, so give him a warm welcome.

When he’s not playing golf, he’s conducting radio campaigns for several WMass stations, including 93.9 The River and 96.3 WHMP.

Information on upcoming tournaments and results of some recent tournaments are provided below.  Kid’s programs are also ramping up.  Check-in with Pro Dave Twohig at the Pro Shop.

2015 SENIOR’S CHAMPIONSHIP

The Seniors Championship was played Sunday June 7th, along with a 4-Ball event.   Steve Hallquist took top honors and the Shumway Trophy with a Gross score of 72.  Sean Cleary split the Rocking Chair Trophy with Steve, both having a Net score of 67.  Sam Lussier took the Kuzmiski Trophy with a Gross score of 83, and Bob Blanchette took the Roy Gage M&M Trophy with a Net score of 69.  Complete results for the 2015 Senior’s Championship and 4-Ball Event are found here.

OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS

The Women’s Special Cup is coming up Jun 13th.

The Steamboat Classic Member-Guest is also around the corner on June 26, 27 and 28th, and is one of the larger social outings for the club, with a banquet featured the evening of  Saturday the 28th.  Please make plans to find a guest to play in this marquis event for the club, or make plans to attend the dinner.   A detailed flyer for the event is here.

IN MEMORIAM :  GEORGE RICHASON CELEBRATION

There will be a gathering to honor the memory of George Richason who passed away on April 14th.  George was the oldest member of the club.  The event will be held at the Club on June 13th from 4:30 until 6:30 PM.  Plan on attending and sharing your favorite memories of George.
