Our Head Professional Shawn Durocher runs the Pro Shop, where all information and activities at Amherst Golf Club is centered. As well as an accomplished golf instructor, Shawn is an active golfer and plays in professional tournaments when time allows. See more about Pro Shawn below.

If we don’t have it in stock, special orders are not a problem. All merchandise is priced at or below competitive industry pricing. Club fitting and re-gripping are also available

Golf Instruction

PGA Head Professional Shawn Durocher and her husband, PGA Professional Rick Durocher, are both available for Golf Instruction. Both are great golf teachers for both the full swing and short game, particularly putting, pitch shots and bunker play. Learn proven techniques to lower your scores and gain confidence off the tee and around the greens.

About Pro Shawn Durocher

Shawn, an Amherst native, started as the Head Golf Professional starting in March 2025.  Shawn turned professional after qualifying for the 1993 U.S. Women’s Amateur, competing on the Gold Coast Tour in Florida, the Futures Tour and at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament; the PGA of America member since 1998 has worked as an assistant at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at Delray Dunes in Boynton Beach, Fla, and then over 12 years as the assistant and head golf pro at Cyprian Keyes GC in Boylston, Massachusetts. Shown also spent 9-1/2 years as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College golf team, helping the team qualify for the Division III national championships in 2004. She grew up playing at Amherst Golf Club, under the tutelage of our former long-time Pro Dave Twohig. She played one year at the University of Hartford, before transferring to UMass. At Umass, she won the Massachusetts and New England Intercollegiate Championships in 1992. Shawn works with her husband and longtime PGA pro Rick Durocher, with whom she has two daughters, Olivia and Christina, and one grandson!
