Kris Carver’s Albatross in 2014 Steam Boat is Recognized Posted August 10, 2015
Off
At the Steam Boat dinner on Saturday June 27, 2015, Kris Carver was recognized for his albatross scored during the 2014 event. A plaque was presented to Kris by Pro Dave Twohig for this rare achievement.
With an eagle scored by Jeff Gold a couple of groups in front of him, Kris started his 16th hole with a quiet 295 yard drive that left him with 230 yards to the hole. He said to his partner Jeff Edwards that he thought he could get there with a 3 iron. He picked the right club, striking Gold, as this shot ended going into the hole for a duce. An albatross (3 under par on a Par 5) is very rare and the Amherst Golf Club isn’t aware of another recorded on our 7th Hole.
Kris was presented with a trophy followed by a big round of applause by the 2015 Steam Boat participants.
