New Trap Rake Purchased Posted July 14, 2014

Amherst Golf Club has purchased a new trap rack in time for the Club Championship. On Saturday Morning, July 12th our new trap rack was delivered. The old vehicle broke after 22 years of service. Check out the sand traps next time you are in them. Carl Teschke, Mike Gillis, & Carl Teschke Jr. are pictured in front of the 5th hole sand trap.

The Men’s Championship Division plays July 11, 12 & 13 and Divisions 1 & 2 play July 12 & 13. The following weekend, July 19 & 20th, has the Men’s Divisions 3, 4 and 5 and all the Women’s Divisions.
Jesse Morgan IV is the 2013 Men’s Champion, and has won four years running. Laurie Shannon is the 2013 Women’s Champion.

The 32nd Annual Steamboat Tournament, the club’s signature member-guest event, took place the weekend of June 21-22 with 23 teams participating. Jim Hunt and Ron Laverdiere came back the 2nd day to outpace Jesse Morgan IV and Bill Armstrong to win Gross by 3 strokes. Pat Kelley and Paul Torpey Jr. edged Glenn & Sandy Allan by 2 strokes to win the Net. The festivities include a well-received buffet of salmon, prime rib and bourbon chicken attended by 60 members & guests on Saturday night. The money winners are listed below:
